RUSK COUNTY ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE, INC.
The East Texas Rural Electric Youth Seminar (ETREYS) is designed to foster positive ideals and values among young people and to enhance skills in leadership, problem-solving, and inter-personal relationships in a wholesome environment.
Participants are selected on basis of overall excellence with ALL EXPENSES PAID by their sponsoring rural electric cooperative. The seminar consists of workshops, presentations and peer group activities. Several functions and recreational activities are planned to develop friendships and provide fun.
- SELECTION CRITERIA - ETREYS is open to students who are presently completing their sophomore or junior year in high school.
- SCHOLARSHIPS - Participants are eligible for over $7,500 in scholarships, to be announced at our Awards Banquet on the last day of the seminar.
- YOUTH DIRECTORS - From each sponsoring cooperative, the participant demonstrating the greatest interest, involvement and leadership by the end of the week shall be awarded a Youth Director position to participate in the next year's seminar.
- WASHINGTON YOUTH TOUR: The two highest scoring students with Rusk County Electric will be eligible to go on an all expense paid trip to Washington D.C. the following summer with approximately 1400 students from across the United States.
